The Lyric Glow filter is a photo effect that adds colored glow to the brighter elements in the source video image. It takes the glow color from the image elements themselves and includes saturation & contrast controls for the glow color. It also provides a glow expansion control for spreading the glow outside the high-tone objects. The standard Lyric effect controls allow the effect to be applied to selected parts of the image, as in the example on the right above, in which an expanded green glow from the apples has been applied to just the shadow portions of the image, giving the appearance of a green glow underlying the apples.
The Lyric Glow filter includes a set of effect controls that are common across all Lyric effect filters. For a detailed description of these controls, please see the Common Effect Controls documentation.
Additionally, all Lyric Effect filters can be applied through mattes or masks to constrain the filter effect to particular areas of the image. For background information on mattes and masks, please refer to the Lyric Matte Primer.
The Glow Amount slider controls the opacity of the glow overlay, sliding it to the right increases the glow.
Glow Blur controls the level of bluring of the glow overlay, increasing this softens and partially spreads the glow.
Glow Expand grows the glowing areas within the image so that they bleed out past the edges of the glow-sourcing elements in the image.
Glow Saturation and Contrast control the color and density of the glow.
The Effect Controls section is a set of common controls that are documented on the Common Effect Controls page. They can be used to achieve masked and other specialized filter effects.
