Lyric Fleshtones Matte
The Lyric Fleshtones Matte produces a matte that selects areas of fleshtone color in a scene.
It is most often used as a filter mask to perform some correction on fleshtones in the clip or, inverted to protect fleshtones while other corrections or stylizing is performed on the other areas in the scene.
The Lyric Fleshtones Matte filter includes a set of matte and output controls that are common across all Lyric matte filters. For a detailed description of these controls, please see the Matte Common Controls documentation.
For background information on mattes and their uses in Final Cut, please refer to the Lyric Matte Primer.
Tone Offset allows the center matte color to be adjusted and the other sliders permit fine-tuning of the matte. The Luminance controls comprise shadow and highlight thresholds.
If the default center tone is off by some margin, it may be useful to reduce to the Tone Range slider to zero temporarily, and then move the Tone Offset slider until the maximum matte coverage is achieved, and then raise the Tone Range as needed to complete the matte.
The Matte Control and Output sections are common controls that are documented on the Matte Common Controls page.
